Norton Brook Medical Centre covers a large rural area in the South Hams; the practice boundary is a five mile radius around Kingsbridge. Our friendly team includes 9 GPs, 3 practice nurses, 2 HCAs and a phlebotomy team. Our non-clinical team consists of our practice manager and large helpful team of reception, administration and secretarial staff.

Job Opportunity: Health Care Assistant (or Phlebotomist)

We are excited to be looking to employ a health care assistant, or phlebotomist who is keen to increase their skill set, to join our friendly and enthusiastic team. We are a 10,000 patient practice in the rural town of Kingsbridge in the South Hams.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated manager with a professional approach to join our excellent team. The role will require sound leadership, organisational and communication skills. Full time hours preferred but can be flexible.

Our business manager would oversee the running of our practice supported by our office Manager and our Finance Manager who have both been with us for many years.

We work in modern, purpose built premises.
We have a practice list size of approx. 10,000 patients with 9 GP Partners, 3 PN's and a supportive team of HCA's and admin staff.
ARRs including paramedics, a Physio and a Pharmacist have joined our team and we are also a training practice for GP Registrars and F2 Doctors.

Your responsibilities would include Personnel Management/ HR, Strategic planning, H&S, attending and chairing meetings, liaising with our local PCN. CQC and GDPR compliance, over-seeing complains and supporting the Finance Manager. 

General Practice/ NHS experience preferred or management qualification.
Offer subject to 2 references and enhanced DBS check.

This practice is not able to provide you with a letter that shows your COVID-19 vaccination status. If you need to prove your COVID-19 vaccination status, please download the NHS App. If you cannot access online services, call 119.

Transport

If you are having difficulty finding transport to your vaccination appointment you can call 0808 196 3646 to self-refer for a GoodSAM volunteer who can make arrangements to help with your transport needs.

Access

Our surgery is accessible to patients using a wheelchair. We also provide free parking spaces outside our practice. This includes a number of dedicated disabled spaces which are reserved for patients displaying a disabled badge. All of our consulting rooms are based on the ground floor.

For the hard of hearing, we have a Hearing Loop. If any disabled patient has a problem getting access to the medical centre or using our facilities, we are anxious to be told.
